Raspberry jello fluff just like Mom always made for Sunday dinner when I was a kid and now my kids love it too! so incredibly yummy!
Jello always makes me think of my childhood, but a lot of you may think of the hospital. I’ve been in the hospital quite a bit thanks to Hyperemesis but I’ve never seen jello on the menu. Maybe it was 20 years ago, but either way I loved it as a kid and I don’t have any issues with it at all. In fact, this raspberry jello fluff (I totally made that name up) was one of my favorites for Sunday dinner.
Mom either made regular jello, jello with cool whip, strawberry banana or raspberry fluff or occasionally jello with fruit in it. No matter the kind it ALWAYS was on our Sunday table. We ate right after church no matter what time church was, 9, 11, or 1. Oh how I loved 1 pm church as a teen. Now I prefer 9 am as a mother, but I still love my jello like a kid.
This jello is made with milk and blended fruit so it ends up all fluffy. It’s quite wonderful and you don’t have to add fresh whipped cream, but why the heck not? And next time I promise to clean up the glasses but I was teaching the girls how to make this so I wanted them to feel proud, not that it wasn’t perfect. That’s what’s important.
Is Jello a Salad or a Dessert?
Jello can be a salad, eaten with the main meal or considered a dessert.

I have called this and similar Jello + evaporated milk since I first had it in the early 50’s, so sorry you really didn’t invent the name “Jello Fluff”

Fair enough!

I’m trying to find a lost recipe for a jello salad I called “Pineapple Cheer”. It had crushed pineapple, pecans, cool whip, lemon jello, miniature marshmallows, and 4 slices of American cheese diced up in it. I’ve lost it thru several moves and would like to know the right proportions. If anybody knows of a recipe like this I sure would like it. Thanks.

That sounds so yummy! I’ll keep my eyes peeled for something similar to that.

Hey Judy! I just came across this one. Is it close? I don’t see the cheddar cheese but you could easily add it. https://www.momontimeout.com/ambrosia-salad-recipe/

Just love your post, just the other day at check out register cashier and I commented that it seems jello salads that we grew up on have vanished from our Sunday and holiday tables we wondered why? I’m never asked to bring them anymore. I’ll just have to change that and start bringing one just because. THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES.

Where can I buy raspberry juice?
Sweet Basil
Our grocery stores sell some or you can buy the canned raspberries and use the juice they are in. In fact, even some frozen raspberries come in a juice (not the syrup mind you…)
