After having 3 kids I was so ready to have my abs back.  First I realized that I will need to shred the fat off by eating clean, second I need to rebuild my abs to make them strong again by figuring out what ab exercises are the best to do.  Who has ever tried to do a sit up a week or two after having a baby? I know I have and It was impossible.  It can become devastating!  Today I want to share with you 5 ab moves that I do weekly. I love these moves because they have made my abs really strong and they are easy to do with little strain to the neck but yet they make your abs scream. These 5 ab moves for a tight stomach will help bring those before baby abs back.

I liked to do each workout 3 sets of 15.  There are a few ab workouts that you will work on each side so each side you will do 15. For example Right side one, Left side one. Right side two, Left side two all the way until you hit 15, repeated 3 times.

Abs are something we all want and think we can’t have after we have kids but I want to help you know that you can have abs again. Of course these work for everyone, not just the people that have had kids! It will be through your daily diet and working your abs out 3-4 times a week that gets you there!

  2. So nice tips, I also want to do moves, but I am wondering whether I can do these, I must follow you step by step.

  3. How many reps/sets do you each day?

  4. Great moves for great results. Need more efforts to add mason twists move into my routine 🙂

  5. i have been looking into getting back into working out. I haven’t done so in many years, on top of 2 babies by cs. I have several trouble areas but my belly is my main issue. I can’t seem to burn the fat off. I have started to do light workouts here and there to try and build up some tolerance (tore some muscles and also health reasons) so it’s hard to jump right in. Is there any suggestions on what options I may be able to try? Thanks

    • Hi Jenn,

I would definitely start with diet. Get your diet really in check as that’s like 80% of getting the fat to come off. Next I’d totally embrace starting off slow. Give yourself 20 minutes 3 times a week of circuit or strength training for one month straight before worrying about burning fat. You need to get your body strong in nutrition and energy first and then tackle really getting after things 🙂

  6. I’ve read in the comments that you shouldn’t do these exercises if you have diastasis. Do you have any recommendations for exercises that help to close diastasis?

  7. how long did it take u to get flat abs

  8. I’m so jealous of your body 🙂 I just gave birth 6 months ago. Can I do these moves?

  9. These moves look great! How many times a week did you do this routine?

  10. Do you have before pictures? My area is below the belly button, like a inner tube. If this is what you are referring to. Even when I lost 35 lbs I still had this. Wondering is what you had.
Love the exercises that are esy to follow. May have to start with 5 then 10 and work up to 15

  11. I am so excited with the abs. How ever am a bit worried canit work for me. I am 56years have 5 children last one CS. I am 90kgs and have developed flabby bottom stomach. Have not been exercising so can I get rid of this.

  12. Ditto what Ash ^^^ said. All but one of these will make the “pooch” bigger. Get checked for diastis! !

    • Thanks for your comments. First rule of working out is to for sure always know your body and what will work for you. Many of us don’t have diastis and these work great, but it’s always a good idea to watch for it. 🙂

  13. Be careful ladies! Many of these are really bad if you have a diastis following birth (abdominal separation). You need to check your abs to see how much separation there is. Then work on closing that gap. Many of these moves will only widen an existing diastis.

  14. Being a runner means a strong core is super important. These are all great exercises, I need to add those v-ups back into my routine. Thanks for sharing!

  15. Working out post-baby is SO hard but SOoooo necessary! I recently ditched the gym membership for a spin bike at home so I wouldn’t have to leave the baby when I work out, and I think that I will try incorporating this ab workout with my regular spin workouts. Thanks for the post!

  16. These are all such great, effective core exercises! Great workout…pinning.:)
