Banana Bread Recipe

Everyone begs me for my Banana Bread so here it is for all to get whenever they want!

This banana bread recipe always makes me think of my mom. It’s not that she made it all the time, but when she did, oh yum!! It was such a special treat for us. I would watch her make it and hover in the kitchen until it was done. Then as soon as it came out the whole kitchen was flooded with people taking a slice. If there ever was any leftover I would sneak a slice, add a little butter, and nuke it in the microwave for a few seconds to get it all warm and wonderful. It was perfection.

Some prefer their banana bread with walnuts, but we add chocolate chips. It’s just how it should be in my mind.

This recipe is adapted from my mom’s and I hope you all enjoy!

How Long Does Banana Bread Keep?

Banana bread will keep for 1-2 days at room temperature.

You can keep banana bread for up to a week in the refrigerator.

Why Does Banana Bread Fall In The Middle?

There are a couple of reasons that banana bread falls in the middle.

Too much baking powder can cause banana bread to rise quickly and then fall.

There could be too much liquid compared to dry ingredients, which will make banana bread fall.

If your batter is thin, try adding a little more flour.

Also, if you let your batter sit too long before baking, the bread may fall in the middle.

How Long Can You Keep Banana Bread In The Freezer?

Banana Bread should be wrapped in plastic and foil, or wrapped in plastic and placed inside a heavy duty freezer bag.

When stored properly, banana bread will keep for up to 3 months in the freezer.
