Yogurt Breakfast Parfaits

Our dear friends and neighbors are about to have their first baby and what better way to celebrate than to have a lovely baby shower. I helped with the food, which I will get to in a moment, but I have to give it up to Sarah and Lisa who did an amazing job on everything.

This was a book baby shower, so you could obviously gift anything you wanted, but books were definitely what it was all about. The decorations were darling. Little paper airplanes, made from the pages of old books, were hung all over, and a large display of darling children’s books sat in the living room. It was so cute. The streamers, banners etc all looked so playful and perfect. Then the food,

it was pretty yummy and we made a great team for this part. (If I can toot our horns for a moment), the ladies decided on a morning shower, so with it being 10 am we decided to go for a “build your own yogurt breakfast parfaits” for the food. There were also these darling cinnamon roll cookies, which taste just as fantastic as the look.

Pretty cute right? Lisa and Sarah did a fantastic job. So, everything was labeled, thanks to Sarah, and there were yogurts, fruits, and different varieties of granolas. Which by the way, WINCO makes some stinking good granola. WINCO, if you can hear me, please send some by the bag loads. I personally loved the apple flavor. Delicious. Who knew? It’s perfectly cruntchy and cluster-y if you know what I’m talking about.

Anyway, I was in charge of the yogurt and I had a ton of fun creating different varieties. I loved that everyone had a different favorite, but I will say that the one that was gobbled up the most was the lemon curd. And, it was delightful. I think it, or the orange cream was my favorite.

So here’s the deal, and I’ll remind you with each recipe, but you can choose to use any yogurt as your base. I chose Chobani Greek Yogurt, either plain or the vanilla, because I love that’s it is better for you and holy protein. Love that greek yogurt has the protein. If you cannot find Chobani, you can certainly substitute any yogurt, I’m just recommending my favorite.

Throughout this whole week I’ll be posting a recipe a day. I think this would be a fantastic idea for a shower, birthday, family get together or General Conference weekend. It’s fast, easy, healthy and delicious.

Check back tomorrow and we will start with the orange cream… oh and did I mention that you have a chance to win your own Chobani Yogurt, 3 32oz containers of the delicious stuff!!! Giveaway begins tomorrow so you’ll have to revisit to learn how to enter.
