Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies

Can we please just talk about how hard it was to not try these chocolate hazelnut cookies? SERIOUSLY! I kept thinking of all the different ways I could sneak a nibble, “well I could pump and dump, no that never once has worked because it stays in the milk for up to 2 weeks, I could take a tiny, tiny bite, no even that will reek havoc on lil’ one.” The thoughts went on and on, but in the end I resisted. GOSH! You’re welcome daughter, you are welcome.

Instead I had to resort to letting friends, neighbors and family members tell me about them. You see, I kept thinking that if THESE cookies and THESE cookies were delicious then there must be a combination that is also fantastico. My husband thought they were way yummy and that’s saying a lot since he is a true blue chocolate chip cookie lover. Everyone else said they were delish too so I guess they are a keeper!  Let us know what you think, I can’t wait to try these chocolate hazelnut cookies!

Are Filberts and Hazelnuts The Same?

Filberts, and hazelnuts are technically the same nut.

Hazelnuts, or Filberts as they are called in Oregon, are Oregon’s official State Nut.

Are Hazelnuts Good For You?

Hazelnuts are rich in unsaturated fats, high in magnesium, calcium and vitamins B and E.

Hazelnuts are good for your heart, help reduce the risk of cancer, and aid in muscle, skin, bone, joint and digestive health.

What Can You Substitute for Brown Sugar?

White sugar in an equal amount will work fine.

Your cookies will be a little crisper than if they had been made with brown sugar.

Another way to substitute brown sugar is to add 2 tablespoons molasses to every cup of substituted white sugar.

You will not be able to tell the difference.
