I am pretty sure I can’t really call this a cheese danish, but technically it kind of is. I had a little extra crescent roll dough leftover after making a recipe the other day and since the blueberries and sweet cheddar were already sitting out I decided to just throw it all together and eat it even if it was yucky. I just didn’t want to waste such lovely ingredients. I didn’t realize I was making such a delicious honey blueberry cheese danish!
Cheese in a crescent roll is actually nothing new to me. In fact, my mom is probably rolling her eyes as she reads this. She used to make these chicken pillows growing up and now I can totally see why everyone loved them, but my 10 year old self hated them. Sorry, Mom!! So while everyone was chowing down on that crowd pleaser I was putting cheese in mine and going totally plain. I’m actually quite shocked Mom let me do that as we always ate what she made, but it was pretty delicious so I’m grateful.
Now that I’m older the thought of cheese and bread is still totally awesome, but just wait until you try it with sweet cheddar from Kerry Gold, honey and fresh blueberries. I cannot even believe how yummy it was! I seriously finished off so many of these and just had to take a few quick pics for you all. And yes, I realize that this is one of those recipes that you’re just going to have to trust me on, but just try it. So. Yum.

What is sweet cheddar?
Sweet Basil
It’s delicious! You can find it at costco- the brand is kerry gold or any local grocery store probably has some brand in the specialty cheese that would work
