Looking for healthy snack ideas? Me too. Protein Oatmeal Cookie Energy Bites are full of almond butter, raisins, protein powder, and heart healthy oats!
We’ve talked a lot about snacking on our Facebook live events and Instagram stories. I am a hungry soul and Cade isn’t far behind me. It’s not just about haunting hour at 3:00 (actually 3-5, am I right?) when I’m standing at the pantry and fridge searching, but it’s also that snacking between meals, when done correctly can help you maintain or lose weight.
What Protein Powder is Good for Weight Loss
Alright, what protein is our favorite? I knew you’d ask. You actually don’t really need to worry about what protein powder is good for weight loss, instead just worry about which is going to be best for your health.
How to Pick the Perfect Protein Powder
You want one lower in sugar and high in protein per serving. So many powders out there are chalky tasting and high in sugar, so pretty much they taste gross and aren’t doing you enough good. Let’s talk about which protein to buy. Protein is a critical building block that helps with the growth, maintenance, and repair of muscle which means you’ll get toned, heal and maintain your weight and strength for longer.
Girls, protein is just as much for you as for the boys. You aren’t going to get ripped and having the proper nutrition your body needs will help you to slim up and stay that way.
Cade likes chocolate while I’m all about vanilla. I do so many green smoothie protein shakes (have you read our post on how I do freezer prep green smoothie protein shakes? I’m going to be doing that again next week since I’m almost out) I don’t want the chocolate to mess with the flavor.
We buy, Syntha , or Optimum Nutrition but there are other brands that are great. We watch the sales at Costco, and especially Amazon and buy a whole bunch.
Protein Oatmeal Cookie Energy Bites
Alright, so we eat protein at every meal if we can, and often in snacks in lower amounts. We like that these protein oatmeal cookie energy bites have heart healthy ingredients like almonds, oats etc and they are no bake so they can be whipped together in 5 minutes.
You can buy almond butter yourself but to be honest I’m cheap and like the taste better to just buy almonds and pop them in the blender.
Old fashioned oats are what I use, but you can use quick as well. The only real difference is that quick can break down a little more so if it’s not sticking well enough you can just switch back to old fashioned.
