Hi everyone! Des from Life’s Ambrosia here again! This time I’ve brought dessert with me. And not just any dessert, a pumpkin dessert. It is October after all, the month we pumpkin all the things. Today I am bringing a fall twist to the milkshake with this Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Milkshake.

I stocked up on pumpkin a month or so ago when it was on sale at my local grocery store. Since then I have been knee deep in pumpkin desserts. Pretty much all of these have involved baking. And while I love to bake, love the spicy smell of cinnamon and nutmeg coming out of the oven, the other day I just wanted a quick and easy pumpkin dessert. Something that would make a great afternoon pick me up for the kiddos and me.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Milkshake

The Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Milkshake is just that. All you need is some vanilla ice cream, pumpkin puree, cinnamon and chocolate chips. Blend it all together in your blender and bam, afternoon snack time in 30 seconds. When it comes to pumpkin desserts it really doesn’t get much easier.

The whipped cream and chocolate syrup are optional.

But really, why wouldn’t you want them?

Can You freeze a Milkshake?

Yes, you can freeze milkshakes, but after a while the shake will lose it’s quality.

You can freeze shakes for up to 2 months.

Remove from the freezer and allow to sit for 20 minutes.

Then pop it in a blender for a few seconds, or shake really well to reintroduce air bubbles.

 

Can You Use Canned Pumpkin Puree and Fresh Pureed Pumpkin Interchangeably?

Yes canned pumpkin puree and fresh pumpkin puree can be used interchangeably.

How Long Will Homemade Whipped Cream Keep?

When properly stored whipped cream will keep in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

Servings: 1 milkshake

Ingredients

  • 3 scoops french vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 - 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree not pumpkin pie filling
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • whipped cream
  • chocolate syrup

Instructions

  • Combine ice cream, 1/2 cup milk, chocolate chips, pumpkin and cinnamon in a blender and blend until frothy.
  • Pour into a cup, top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup.
  • Serve.
