Tarragon Chicken Salad

Is there anything better on a long hot day than ending it with a super easy, light, cool and delicious dinner? I love summer meals, especially this Tarragon Chicken Salad. I love that you tend to eat a little healthier and you use more fresh ingredients versus the winter when there isn’t a lot available fresh herb, fruit and even a lot of veggies. Speaking of veggies…

We are currently working on our garden and it is not going so well. Well, we are gardening with our good friends, and some of their stuff is looking great, but our herbs and peppers either aren’t growing or are looking limp. Yes, they are getting plenty of water, no the soil is not very good, and we are working on that, but any other tips for us? I really can’t wait to be eating fresh produce all summer long. I am feeling a bit antsy. Do you garden? If so, what are you planting this year?

Does Salad Help Digestion?

Raw vegetables are great for a healthy digestive system.

The raw vegetables in salads provide dietary fibre which acts like a sweeper in the body.

They help to digest and eliminate waste.

Will Salad Help Me Lose Weight?

Replacing a high calorie, heavy meal with healthy salad is a great way to slim down.

Eating salad first can reduce your caloric intake.

You should make sure that you keep your salads low in calories so that they provide fewer calories than the meal or snack that they are replacing.

Are Salad Kits Safe To Eat?

As with any produce, you are never completely risk-free, since it’s the heat of cooking that kills disease-causing bacteria, such as E. coli and Salmonella.

Bagged precut vegetables are washed multiple times in chlorinated water to kill pathogens.

That is probably a more thorough washing than you would do at home.

So, salad kits are as safe as any produce you would eat.
