Hit it Hard

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to try out the new Title Boxing Club in Utah with a group of awesome bloggers. See Is This Really My Life’s post for a full picture of us. I feel like we are experiencing a whole list of new things lately (skiing for example) but seriously, we’ve become obsessed with boxing. It’s absolutely the best workout I’ve had in a long time, and I don’t just mean physically.

We are always watching for a new way to stay fit. Running is by far one of my husband’s favorite activities to stay fit, and I still adore pilates, but we both believe in mixing things up and trying something new to keep our bodies fit. Plus we love that changing up our activities engages our bodies in different ways which of course helps your overall fitness, but it also is great for your mind to be doing something new. So we may still be true to running and pilates, but this is for sure our new workout. We LOVE it.

The workout was killer, don’t get me wrong, but I loved that you didn’t notice anyone else. You’re all by your own bags (which by the way weigh more than I do.) and so in the zone that you don’t feel silly if you aren’t doing it correctly, or you aren’t as strong as someone else. I love that the coaches or trainers are walking around and taking the time to help you learn how to punch, kick, etc. You actually leave feel so empowered. And in case you’re wondering, there’s a FAQS page that can answer questions for you about what to wear etc.

Oh, and did I mention that your first time is FREE? That’s right, you can head over with your spouse for free and try this baby out! Seriously, if you’re in Utah, grab your loved one and come with us. We would love to go kill it together!

You can pop in anytime and do your own workout, but we actually love the classes. And yes, there’s totally a “ring” in the back where you can really get into the whole boxing thing, and weights of course.

*Don’t worry, this is NOT just a Utah club. Title Boxing Club is all over the United States and I’m sure that you can find one near you. But if you are in Utah you must head over to Cottonwood Heights. Take your spouse, and do not let him out of it. You’d think this was totally a man fitness group, but it’s actually full of women. I guess the men are worried they wont look strong enough, but trust me a man boxing is totally hot and you’re so in your own zone with your bag that it doesn’t matter what anyone else is doing. Plus, it was such a fun little date for us to go get out all of our stress and try something new together.

I insist that you go try it out. We loved it so much that I just had to write about it. I hope you’ll go and please let me know what you think!

  • I couldn’t agree with you more that this is an amazing workout! I thoroughly enjoy both the boxing and kickboxing. I was a bit hesitant at first because I have never tried boxing and didn’t want to be embarrassed, but found out right away that there was no need to feel this way. There’s just something about the loud music, fun atmosphere, great trainers and invigorating feeling of punching/kicking something for 1 straight hour that gets me excited to go back again. 😉
