Lemon Brown Sugar Almonds

  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 2 tb butter
  • 1/4 cup or more brown sugar
  • Zest of half a lemon


  • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and zest.
  • Heat a pan to medium heat and add the almonds.
  • Stir occasionally until the almonds begin to give off a nutty smell and are beginning to turn golden.
  • Add the butter, and allow it to melt then quickly add the brown sugar mixture.
  • Stir until the almonds are well coated and remove to parchment paper (spread out) to cool.
