Instructions
In a large saucepan over medium heat, add the butter, milk, sugar, salt and berries.
1/2 Cup Butter,
1 Cup Whole Milk,
1 Cup Sugar,
1 Pinch Salt,
1 Cup Marionberries
Heat to a boil, occasionally stirring and smashing the berries.
Add the vanilla and stir to combine.
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Remove from the heat and quickly add the baking soda.
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
The syrup will foam up, but continue to stir and place on the heat for 30 seconds. If it begins to foam up too much, remove from heat immediately.
Serve with pancakes, waffles or french toast.
Notes
A large pot is necessary to contain the syrup after adding the baking soda.
Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks
