Ingredients

1 Pound Ground Beef (we use 80% lean)
1/2 Cup Onion diced fine
1 Red Bell Pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons Garlic minced
2 1/2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar (dark or light)
2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
3/4 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
1 Cup Ketchup
1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
Salt and Pepper to taste
3 Tablespoons Butter
Buns for serving

Instructions

Heat up your pressure cooker over medium high heat (Instant Pot): press Sauté button
Add ground beef in pressure cooker. The ground beef will begin to release moisture. At the 5-minute mark, drain & discard the ground beef juice.
1 Pound Ground Beef
Allow ground beef to brown.
Add diced veggies for 2 minutes or until soft.
1/2 Cup Onion, 1 Red Bell Pepper
Add remaining ingredients and the lid with the valve on seal.
1 1/2 teaspoons Garlic, 2 1/2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar, 2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard, 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce, 3/4 teaspoon Liquid Smoke, 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder, 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika, 1 Cup Ketchup, 1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar, Salt and Pepper
Cook on high pressure for 5-8 minutes, allow a 10 minute natural release.
Toast buns and brush with a little melted butter on top
Buns , 3 Tablespoons Butter
Turn the pot back to sauté for 3-7 minutes on high if it’s too runny

Notes

Sloppy Joes can be frozen for up to 6 months.
