coconut oil waffles ohsweetbasil.com

I have prepared two different semi homemade waffle posts for you all and you’ll see the next one soon, but I wanted to tell you the reason behind these coconut oil waffles. The first thing is that I get quite a lot of emails that people love our melt in your mouth buttermilk pancakes, but they are afraid to try homemade waffles. They mention that they struggle to get them to turn out. The second reason is that everyone always wants to know how to use coconut oil in something so I thought, why not show everyone how they can create a semi homemade waffle with coconut oil?

It’s quite easy, but the key is high quality coconut oil. Just use it in place of the regular oil or butter that the package calls for and then add a little vanilla to freshen things up. It’s hardly a recipe, and I wouldn’t even take the time to post it except it really does make a nice and fluffy waffle so since we do it all the time I thought you may want to as well. 🙂

Does Coconut Oil Make Food Taste Like Coconut?

In general, the more heat the oil was exposed to, during processing, the more strong the coconut flavor will be.

A truly raw, unrefined, virgin coconut oil will have a very mild coconut flavor and scent.

Usually coconut oil adds little to no flavor to foods.

Why Use Coconut Oil In Cooking?

Coconut oil is high in healthy saturated fats that have different effects than most other fats in your diet.

The fats in coconut oil can boost fat burning and provide your body and brain with quick energy.

Coconut oil also raises the good HDL cholesterol in your blood, which is linked to reduced heart disease risk.

Why Are Waffles Soggy?

A hot waffle iron prevents soggy waffles.

A little added sugar will help prevent soggy waffles.
