Easy and a total crowd pleaser, angel hair chicken pasta ohsweetbasil.com

I know what you are thinking, but I promise that this really is a yummy and flavorful angel hair chicken pasta dish, even though it might not look very impressive. But let’s all be honest here, the over the top beautiful dishes aren’t always going to hit the spot like a little home cooking will.

Orange (as well as pink) are kind of the worst colors ever to photograph. At least that’s my opinion. It’s just hard to really capture the color. So this yummy, creamy pasta is even harder to get the full feeling for because of that. But just stick with me here. This is one of those dishes that I technically shouldn’t care all that much about, especially since it uses a mushroom soup which is never my favorite, but you can’t even tell that’s what it is in this pasta recipe. It’s perfect for company too because while it looks like you spent hours making a sauce you and I will know just how lazy we really were.

Anyway, try this out if you need a fast, no fuss dinner. It’s great if someone is sick or just had a baby and you want to drop something off to help out the family too!

Thanks Nalani for all of your yummy recipes you pass on to us!

Is Angel Hair Pasta and Thin Spaghetti the Same?

There is barely and difference between angel hair pasta and thin spaghetti.

There is just a slight difference in size, and that can also depend on the brand.

With some brands, angel hair pasta is smaller than thin spaghetti, other brands, they are about the same.

Angel hair pasta and thin spaghetti can be substituted for each other.

Can Pasta Be Reheated?

Pasta can be reheated in the microwave, stovetop, or in water.

You can place pasta in a zip lock bag and immerse in very hot water to reheat.

You can put left-over pasta in a colander and dip it in boiling water for about 30 seconds.

Heat a sauce pan and drizzle a little olive oil in the pan.

Place your pasta in the pan and saute for 2-3 minutes.

To heat in the microwave, put a little splash of water in with the pasta and heat and stir in 1 minute increments.

How Long Will Pasta Keep in the Refrigerator?

Properly stored, cooked pasta will keep 3-4 days in the refrigerator.

Pasta should be kept in shallow, air tight containers.

I feel like so many things I make are hard to photograph like this! You did a great job though and that pasta looks delicious!

    1. Sweet Basil says:

      Right?! UGH!!

  4. Dianne Johnson says:

Ooops! Forgot to tell you something. A little sprinkle of chopped chives or green onions would add more interest to your photo. I used to keep a pot of chives on my windowsill for just this purpose. A little snip, a few chops and you’ve added color and interest. Thanks for all your lovely recipes. I’ve Pinned quite a few.

      Hi Dianne,
Yes, I usually try to keep those things on hand but sometimes I fail and that’s just how it goes. Haha, I am trying to remember garnish more often!

  5. Dianne Johnson says:

This looks wonderful! I do love the Golden Mushroom soup. I used to make a Beef Stroganoff with it that everyone loved. I’ll bet it’s just as good with the chicken!!

  6. Tricia says:

Does this need to be covered, while cooking?

    1. Sweet Basil says:

      Hi Tricia,
It does not but it wouldn’t hurt it to cover it.

  7. Katherine says:

Does this recipe call for bone-in chicken breasts? Thanks.

    1. Sweet Basil says:

      Boneless, thanks! 🙂

      1. Katherine Boghosian says:

Thank you… that’s what I bought! Can’t wait to make it!

      2. Sweet Basil says:

        Enjoy!

      3. Katehrine says:

What is golden mushroom soup? Not condensed cream of mushroom I assume.

      4. Sweet Basil says:

It is different than the cream of mushroom, it’s actually orange in color. I always think my store doesn’t carry it at first, but it’s always there and I just have to look harder. It is made by Campbells still. 🙂

      5. Katherine says:

I made this tonight with Campbell’s condensed cream of mushroom soup because I didn’t have golden mushroom soup. I used half the amount of soup the recipe called for with more white wine and fresh mushroom slices. Delicious! Can’t wait to try it with the golden mushroom soup!

  8. Ana Ramsey says:

I made this for dinner tonight and it was so delicious! Thank you for the recipe, the hubby wants me to work it into the dinner routine. I added a little more wine and some Parmesan cheese and a little milk to make the sauce go a little further. YUMMMMM!!!!!

    1. Sweet Basil says:

      Yay! So glad!

  9. Meridith Oram says:

    I’m making this one tonight!

  10. Maria says:

I sometimes forget to take pictures and post our meals too! This one looks simple!!
