Chicken Bacon And Artichoke Pizza

I know, another pizza, but YUM. Oh, yum.. I was in an artichokey (yes, you are correct, that is not a word. However, I am still going to use it!) mood the other day so we had this Chicken Bacon And Artichoke Pizza and let me tell you, IT WAS DELICIOUS!
 
 
 
How can you not love that garlic in the background with soft shredded chicken and then that crisp turkey bacon? YUM! You definitely have to give this pizza a try.
Even if it is just a little bit out of your comfort zone, trust me. You are going to love it! The whole wheat crust is so soft and really adds extra depth to the whole dish. I can still taste how delicious it was. Not even kidding. You must try this! Have I said that before? Let me say it again, you MUST try this! If you don’t think that the rest of your family will be on board make personal pan pizzas so that they can still have all their favorite toppings and you can treat yourself to this and you will be in heaven. Do it. You can thank me later.

Chicken Bacon and Artichoke Pizza

Chicken Bacon and Artichoke Pizza
Prep Time 45 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 10 minutes

Ingredients

By Meet me in the kitchen

  • 3 1/2 cups flour (you can use half whole wheat, half white)
  • 1-2 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon of salt

Creamy Garlic Sauce

  • 1 Tb Olive Oil or Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped garlic
  • 1 Teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1-2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 Cup Water

Pizza

  • 1/2 Can Artichoke Hearts, drained, and sauteed
  • 2 boneless, skinless Chicken breasts cooked (with salt and pepper) and shredded
  • 4 Slices Of Turkey Bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1-2 Cups Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese, shredded

Instructions

For the Crust

  1. For dough- place warm water, yeast, honey, olive oil, and salt in a large bowl or mixer (if you have a dough hook).
  2. Add warm water a couple tablespoons at a time and mix until you have a nice smooth dough.
  3. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.

Creamy Garlic Sauce

  1. Heat oil in a sauce pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the garlic, and cook until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the heavy cream, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Mix the cornstarch with the water, and stir into the sauce.
  5. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 3 minutes.

For the Pizza

  1. Roll out the pizza dough and spread the creamy garlic sauce over the crust.
  2. Sprinkle the chicken, artichokes and bacon over the pizza and top with cheese
  3. Bake 10-15 min at 500 degrees or until cheese is bubbly

  9. This looks so good! I made a pizza that had artichokes on it last summer and it was delicious.
    I am in the mood for pizza too.
    About the asparagus recipe- I reduced the amount of oil in the vinaigrette and didn’t toss the asparagus in it, because I like just a little dressing. I just drizzled it on there. I really liked. It isn’t something I would want to eat every day because I like my veggies simple mostly, but I really liked it. If you try it and don’t like it- I apologize in advance!
