We are so stinking excited to show you our office reveal!! It’s been hard work but the results are beautiful and exactly what we wanted.
As you already know, this was a project that we teamed up with MasterBrand Cabinets for. You can read THIS post all about how to pick out cabinetry if you haven’t already. We really love how the white creates such a beautiful canvas for all of the color and textures in this room. The cabinetry not only looks pretty, and I know it may sound weird to say this but it’s so silky and smooth too. It actually feels good. We ended up going with Diamond for the cabinetry and Atlas Homewares for those gorgeous Champagne accents.
We took everything clear up to the ceiling, which was a little nerve racking as it’s such a small room and we didn’t want to do anything to make the space feel smaller, but it definitely had the opposite affect. Not only does it elongate the room, but yay for not dusting above cabinetry! Ha!
Oh the paint. Ohhhh the paint!! I have to mention that as it was a back and forth, this or that situation. Finally we chose Sherwin-Williams, Alabaster. It is a little warmer than most white so it does not feel cold or hospital like. I’ve had enough of HOSPITALS, and I’m sure you all can understand that. The paint is great quality, it’s resisting dirt and it’s a great backdrop for our pops of color. Sherwin-Williams provided the paint and sure enough, it has been exactly the right choice for the room.
We found old books at our local DI, much like a Goodwill which added more feeling and texture to the room versus crisp, shiny new books.
In one of the books we found this darling letter slipped inside. I love a handwritten letter and anything starting with Dear Mother just had to be saved. It’s a great talking piece too as everyone wants to know where it came from.
Ok, on to the details!!
Simple and full of color in a totally calm and sweet way.
We’ve already chatted about why you should ditch the shops around town and become a die hard Lighting Connection fan in THIS post. You can go check out the pretty pictures and stay tuned for another giveaway. You all said how much you love the chandelier so I couldn’t resist giving one away. EEEK!
My current favorite piece of art in our home. It’s light, fresh, and simple all at once. The related photos at the bottom of the page are just as lovely as well.
We wanted the kids involved so we pulled up prints in certain colors and let them help decorate. This sweet elephant was a winner!
Every space should have something soft. This pillow is totally different as it has beautiful embroidery and texture.
This is ridiculous but this is one of my favorite purchases of the entire year. I know, that’s crazy, but it’s so true. This pretty peonies look so real, they are so beautiful and bring the whole room to life. I adore them. I want them in every square inch of my home. And I’m going to do it.
This beautiful rug is by RugsUsa and it is absolutely awesome. Cade and I are pretty neutral but the girls really wanted to help decorate so we let them pick out some ideas. We try to carry one color throughout our home in every room just so it flows and a rug with a hint at blue and that was super saturated in color totally adds to the room. I highly recommend ditching your old rug and changing it out for something like this.
We already chatted about hardware in this post, but those tiny details will take your room from lovely to polished. It’s like adding a little mascara, we are beautiful without makeup, but a touch of mascara really draws attention to one of the prettiest features of the face. That’s what good hardware is.
This is not a snuggle down, stay in this chair all day type of arm chair. This is a conversation, a reading or a ponder chair. It’s high back and arms make it perfect for all of those things. Stick a pillow behind your back and snuggle in.
Am I old or is putting your feet up a necessity for a reading chair? The Ojai Pouf adds texture and a place to put your feet up.
Refer back to this post to read all of the details but we LOVE our cabinetry.
I love the color, the natural legs and it’s actually really comfortable! That was Cade’s biggest concern but these chairs are perfection! If you want something different, this white and gold chair, this gorgeous wood chair, this more modern chair, and this side chair with pillows would all be lovely.
I really like that you can order custom shades online now. These Roman Shades are so simple and elegant. They look beautiful pulled up or down and you get to stay with your same seamstress for each project which helps to keep things easy and consistent. Windows By Melissa are even making us another set for our dining room!
