Have you ever heard of Tucanos? It’s a Brazilian restaurant that our family loves. In fact, it’s 7:30 am as I’m writing this and I already have a hankering for Pao De Queijo, their little cheese breads. But Tucanos fried bananas are totally tied for my favorite thing there. These are like little nuggets of gold and if you haven’t had them, you’re just plain missing out. The only hold up is they are fried, so it is a higher cal food. That’s why when Phillips airfryer contacted me about giving the airfryer a whirl I hopped on board pronto! Plus, I’m giving one away to one of you!! So enter the giveaway and then scroll down for the recipe.

Brazilians have seriously fantastic food. We are dying to take a trip there one day. My husband lived there for 2 years, but hasn’t been back since. We need to go. Does anyone in Brazil here that? Anyway, there’s so much deliciousness like torta de limao, Brazilian Burgers with egg, and many more recipes. Supposedly their meat is out of this world. Gosh, I need to get there!!!! But really, these bananas are the star. The bananas are soft like a banana foster dessert and the crunchy breading, gosh I can’t even describe it. It’s light, breaded deliciousness. These ones we rolled in cinnamon sugar because I felt like trying something new, but you totally don’t have to. They are amazing. Make them.

So here’s the deal, years ago when I was first starting out I read a blog that was talking about a new thing called an airfryer. He mentioned that he thought the whole thing sounded intriguing, but he doubted that it would actually be as wonderful as truly fried food is. So, he contacted the brand and got himself an airfryer to try out. And he got it for free. WOW! 5 Years ago I had no clue that was possible, but I was a blogger and I decided that one day I totally wanted to try out an airfryer too. Time passed, I got really sick with my second pregnancy and couldn’t eat at all, and eventually I forgot. When Phillips contacted me I about had a heart attack. Heck yes I’ll try it out.

So we got the airfryer and it is sleek, quieter than you’d think and crazy easy to use. Open the tray, add the food, select your frying temperature (which I love because so many recipes say, fry at 350 degrees and I’d always be like, uhhhhh I have oil in a pan. That’s all I know.) and select your time. You guys, this thing works. It truly fries to perfection with just a tiny drizzle of oil, which almost all of ours dripped to the bottom anyway. Hooray for healthier fried food!!! We are trying to still not use it every day as it still isn’t necessarily healthy to fry bananas, but it’s tempting. I’m not kidding. I’ve been dreaming up so many recipes!!
Are Bananas And Plantains The Same Thing?
Plantains are longer than bananas and they have thicker skins.
Bananas are traditionally eaten raw as they are sweet while plantains are cooked before eaten whether baked or fried.
Are Bananas Still Good If The Peel is Spotted?
Although overripe bananas may not really look very appetizing, they are very good for our health.

How Do You Slow the Ripening of Bananas?
You can place bananas in the refrigerator once they are ripe.
This keep them just right for a longer period of time.
