Can you even believe that I’m posting something with habanero in the title?! Did you all faint just now? Haha, joke’s on you because this pineapple habanero pork isn’t spicy at all. In fact, it’s totally awesome!

Costco was selling this pineapple habanero sauce and they (of course) were giving out little samples. Cade was all over it, but I saw that name and quickly avoided it. Cade found me grabbing milk and insisted that it wasn’t spicy, just a little kick but that the flavor was crazy good. I personally was eyeing the Yasso Greek Yogurt bars, so I figured that if it was spicy I could grab one of those samples and be on my dandy little way.

Dudes, it was so yummy! In fact, I’ve added to the list for this week so Cade can grab a couple more jars just in case they decided to pull it from the shelves as Costco loves to bring things out for only a short amount of time. Hello frozen marionberries for example. BRING. THEM. BACK!!! Anyway, we knew right away that we wanted to try it with pork, but it’s been so hot out I didn’t want to stand out with the smoker or even grill so we popped it in the slow cooker with a little brown sugar and BOOYAH!!! Heaven on Earth.

You can eat it plain, in a taco or even over our delicious coconut rice. We like to add a touch more of the jarred sauce when serving just to give a hint of freshness to what’s inside.
Are Habanero Peppers Hot?
Habaneros are actually chilis.
Hababero chilis are very hot.
They are a popular ingredient in hot sauces and other spicy foods because of their flavor and floral aroma.
Will Pork Roast Shred?
Any fatty pork roast will shred easily.
Can Pork Be Served Pink?
A Little Pink Is OK.
The recommended cooking temperature of pork is 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
That may leave some pork pink, but it is safe to eat.
Pineapple Habanero Pork

Made a special trip to Costco and yay they had this sauce today after looking for a pork recipe with pineapple/habanero sauce. We were just in Scottsdale, AZ and had something similar as tacos at a southwest restaurant – to die for! Also bought pork sirloin tip roasts at Costco – way leaner than pork shoulder so thought Id give it a try. Let you know how it comes out. Was wondering if I could do this low and slow in the oven to get it all caramely and browned?…or does that happen in slow cooker too? Thanks for the recipe!
Hi Marilyn, it will be more caramelized in the oven, but both are fantastic!
It’s super delicious poured over cream cheese and placed on crackers!!
Yes, it is in our appetizer section!
I can’t seem to find a pineapple habanero sauce, so I’ve thrown a habanero and a pineapple salsa in the slow cooker with my pork shoulder! I got both of these in the international foods aisle at Publix. I’m also short on time so I’m going to cook it on high for 4 hours and see how it turns out. Wish me
luck!
Oh I hope it works and isn’t too spicy! I’ll see if I can make a copycat of the sauce asap!
Did you ever try a copycat? I love this sauce but honestly I think it could use way less sugar and be even better. Was hoping someone else had figured out a base recipe. 🙂
I haven’t figured it out yet but we are trying!
What is the brand name of the habenero pineapple sauce from Costco please….I wanna call my local Costcoto see it’d they carry out
Robert Rothschild Farm 🙂 It’s so wonderful!
