My only advice about this recipe is please, please place wax paper in the dish before laying down the chocolate and bars so that you can easily remove them. I had a friend over while I was making mine and good golly was it annoying trying to get them out of the pan without the wax paper. I was putting some pretty major muscle into it! Now, hurry off to make these and report back to me!

Are Rice Krispies Gluten Free?

Rice is naturally gluten free, but, Rice Krispies are made with malt syrup, derived from barley, which contains gluten.

Rice Krispies are not gluten free because of the malt syrup that is in the ingredients.

    Hello,

Can you share other recipes of kudos? I don’t like peanut butter but I would love to try chocolate ones,

    Thanks,
    Nita

    1. Sweet Basil says:

Hi Nita! We haven’t tried to make any other versions, but you could try a different nut butter in place of the peanut butter. I bet almond butter would be delicious!

  2. Martha in KS says:

I’ve never seen an 8×9″ pan. Could this possibly be a typo? I want to make these soon!

    1. Sweet Basil says:

There are odd pan shapes and sizes, but you could use an 8×8 or 8×9 (our 8×9 is a porcelain dish)

  3. Melissa says:

Mine crumbled even using wax paper to lift them from the pan. I am so excited to make homemade Kudos though that I’m going to try again! The recipe is similar to a peanut butter and chocolate Rice Krispie Treat that my mom and I used to make. I might try using marshmallows instead of Karo Syrup next time to see if that helps me keep them together.

Thank you for the recipe! I am sure my family will enjoy the crumbles!

    1. Sweet Basil says:

Oh shoot! Was the mixture too hot when stirring together?

Ooo! My kiddos will love these bars! I need to make a batch asap!

    1. Pam Branch says:

Mine wouldn’t stay together when I tried to get them out the dish after refrigerating. What did I do wrong? How do you get the whole darn thing out the pan without it falling apart?

      1. Sweet Basil says:

Hi Pam, you can try using wax paper so you can lift the entire pan out.
