Red White and Blue Red Velvet Cookies Recipe – Cookies made with an instant pudding and filled with m&m’s are perfect for the 4th of July! Red white and blue red velvet cookies in less than 30 minutes!

Every 4th of July I think that I’m totally on top of things with big dreams of an all-American spread of food. I always see a table filled with beautiful flaky pies, juicy grilled corn with butter slowly melting down the sides, a fat bowl of potato salad and grilled meats that would knock Bobby Flay’s own socks right off.
Instead, we end up with a mediocre table of hot dogs and burgers because the fact of the matter is, we are a little family and a whole spread isn’t always doable unless we have a gazillion people over.

Red White and Blue Red Velvet Cookies Recipe
Which is why I wanted a cute and easy fourth of July recipe using m&m’s. These red white and blue red velvet cookies are a cinch to make, but you’re going to love that these are pudding cookies! They are so squishy and soft, but they are also a 5 minute cookie because you only have to use the red velvet instant pudding to make them!

The m&m’s get a little melty and wonderful and look oh, so festive. The secret to making theis Red Velvet Cookies Recipe look so good is actually just reserving some of the chocolate candies to press into the tops right before baking. That’s the same secret every blogger uses for any cookie recipe. I mean, how often do your chocolate chip cookies come out with perfectly melty, shiny chocolate chips on top?

Made these for 4th of July and they were delicious! They were kind of like a dull pink color also. But so soft and chewy.
Thank you so much for the feedback Stephanie!
Hi! Recipe says “Stir in the chocolate chips” but there is no mention of chocolate chips in the ingredients. Do you mean the M & Ms or is there a missing ingredient- if so how many chocolate chips? Thanks
Hi Debbie! I’m so sorry for the confusion! It should say to stir in the M&Ms.
Cookies turned out AMAZNING!!ICA!!!! <3<3
Yay! Thank you Logan!
Red velvet pudding seems to be harder to find than toilet paper! I’m so bummed because these look so delicious.
Hahaha…that is really saying something! I have a hard time finding it too. I most often find it at Walmart, and when I see it, I buy every box I can find! You can also get it on Amazon!
I made these yesterday and followed the recipe exactly and the color of my cookies was a very dull kinda pink color. Is there something missing from the recipe?
Hmmmmm…you could add more red dye but mine have never turned out pink with the red velvet pudding mixed in there.
What size package is used for the m&ms?
Thanks
Hey Sydnei! Just the 10oz bag works great!
I want to make these on Thursday so bad but I can’t find red velvet pudding mix anywhere! Where did you get it?
Well dang it! I’ve actually had the best luck at Walmart. They always seem to have to widest selection of Jello pudding flavors. I also just checked and it is on Amazon if you get desperate!
red velvet is one of favorite flavors, these cookies are simply mouth watering and a must try!
Thank you!!
Such a very nice idea! I was really hooked by the red velvet color, they are so beautiful!
Thank you!
Such a fun festive idea! I’ve used vanilla and chocolate pudding mixes before in cookies, but never red velvet!
It’s so good!
