Every morning should start off with a proper breakfast that will help you stay on track all day like this strawberries and cream high protein breakfast.

It’s day 2 of my week of giveaways to celebrate my 30th!! Let’s get right into the recipe and giveaway. I have really grown to love protein shakes as long as I can blend it up with ice and make it thick. Cade doesn’t care how it’s made, he just guzzles the stuff. Protein is such an essential part of weight loss and maintaining muscle and I’d say most women and many men miss out on it. For a while there I thought that protein would make someone gain weight unless they were working out crazy hard in the gym, but I was totally wrong. The only problem is, now that I’m sold on the stuff I need new ways to get it into me because I get bored pretty quickly with the same old recipes. This is a strawberries and cream high protein breakfast that’s perfect to get in your protein in a way that will fill you up and still taste like something totally different than the normal protein shake. Or you could always make some protein crepes if you’re feeling a little crazy.
So let’s get you all entered into the giveaway and then make sure you pin this delicious breakfast! And make sure to visit all of the bloggers posting a giveaway to help me celebrate, Something Swanky, Taste and Tell, Favorite Family Recipes, Centercut Cook, Sweet Treats and More, Rachel Cooks, The Crafting Chicks, Or So She Says, Creme De La Crumb.
A huge thank you to WÜSTHOF, Anolon and Microplane for making this all possible!!

Ok, back to breakfast. I’m always totally shocked that so many people skip breakfast. I know some don’t like to eat in the morning, others say it gives them a tummy ache, but really it is such an important meal. It’s all about getting in some great nutrition so you aren’t starving by lunch, thus making you over eat and your metabolism go all crazy.

So whether you’re looking to lose weight, maintain weight or even just put on a little more tone and muscle the secret really does start with a great breakfast and this strawberries and cream oatmeal is heart healthy, totally delicious and full of protein thanks to a little vanilla protein powder.

Butternut Squash Breakfast Burritos
Apparently I like my steel cut oats and oatmeal pretty thick, so feel free to not cook yours as long as me or to add a little more liquid, but this is the way I eat mine. And you can change things up and make it your own. If you’re all about the steel cut oats just make it like normal and add your protein and berries, or if you prefer oatmeal go for that. You can also easily sub almond, coconut or rice milk instead of the regular milk. And while water works too, I really think you need something with a little more milkiness to have that yummy strawberry and cream flavor. So here’s to a healthy body for the summer and a new way to get in your protein!
