Well, I can officially say that I married a genius. I know, you really shouldn’t brag, and don’t worry he does have his faults. Like how he cannot seem to leave his hair alone. Yes, I’m married to the man that walks past a mirror on our way out the door and he has to stop and fix it, again. It’s ridiculous. But, when I said I was going to send pretzels with the little one in her school he said, “Churro pretzels!” Pretty much we fell in love all over again in that moment. *sigh*

Seriously though, how totally awesome is Cade for thinking up this combo?! We already love these cinnamon sugar pretzels that are so addicting we had to stop making them so much or we would never leave the house, and we adore this darn churro chex mix that we like to refer to as, “Sweet Deliciousness”. So logically the next step was to combine the two and bam! Heaven in a bag.

You all do know that my heaven will be filled with food, right? And of course everything will be zero calories. Oh, and sleep. Heaven will also include sleep. Wait, one more. I will also get to take a long, hot shower all by myself without any children knocking at the door. Boo-Yah.

Did you chime in on that little conversation we had on facebook? It was so fun to hear that pretty much every mom out there (and some dads!) gave an, “Amen”. Rest in peace private shower and restroom break. I hope we meet again in the after life or once my children are grown.

In the meantime I’m going to sit back and eat another bag of these once I’ve shut the bedroom door and escaped downstairs after bedtime. YES!

Hi! What’s the difference between the cinnamon mixture in step 6 and the powdered sugar mixture in step 7?
Hi Annaliese! Great question…that was confusing. The cinnamon mixture in step 6 is the melted cinnamon chips and butter mixture. The powdered sugar mixture is the mixture you make in step 2. So you’ll coat the pretzels in the melted cinnamon chips and then coat them in the sugar and cinnamon. I hope this helps! I’ve tried to make it more clear in the recipe card as well.
I substituted caramel sea salt chips for the cinnamon chips and the pretzels tasted amazing! Definitely making them every Christmas from now on!
Oh my goodness, that sounds amazing!
These look amazing! Do you recommend the mini pretzels or regular sized ones for this recipe?
We prefer the mini pretzels, but if you use the bigger know that you wont get as many finished due to their bigger size. 🙂
Is it best to make these a day ahead of time, or on the day of? Thanks!
Hi Emily, one day ahead is ok but much like most treats they really are the yummiest the day of. 🙂
Thank you for this recipe. They do taste AMAZING, however, I wondered if you had any problems melting the butter and chips together and not having it turn into a big ball of brown stuff. I made this recipe twice, and both times, for some reason the cinnamon chips and butter to not seem to melt well together. Any ideas?
Camille, the best suggestion I have is to melt the butter on lower heat and nice and slow. When the butter is almost melted add the chips and stir to combine then let them finish off the heat. It sounds like everything is cooking too quickly.
I absolutely LOVE that the first words I noticed as your site was opening were Health/Fitness. And I came for the Churro Pretzels……love seeing balance, it makes me smile.
they look very good!
These look amazing…. Just one question. The nutrition guide says 9 grams of protein. How can that be? From which ingredient?
Oh dear! Our nutrition calculator has been acting up lately. That is definitely not right. I wish it was! Thank you for letting us know! I’ll go in and take a look at it.
Oh my god, this is genius! I am seriously loving these 🙂
it’s like torture to not eat the whole bag!
I’ve been dying to make these ever since I repinned them. I’m going to make them exactly as written, but I’m curious to know if anyone has ever used coconut oil instead of butter? I know it would change the flavor a bit. I might try that next time. Thanks for sharing such a drool-worthy recipe!
I haven’t but I’d love to hear your results. Butter whisks in a little easier in most recipes but you never know, it could be awesome!
This is a genius idea!
