Mother’s Day is fast approaching and I’m hoping that everyone, husband’s, daughters, friends etc are planning wonderful meals for the lovely women in their lives. I thought I’d throw out just a few Mother’s Day Ideas and some of my personal favorites, but you can always check the Recipes link at the top of the page and scroll through the different categories.

I could not be more grateful for the sacrifices of Mother’s all around the world. Contrary to popular belief, being a mother is the hardest, most exhausting, lovely, joyful and fulfilling job in the world. Hands down.
I can never express to my own mother…

how grateful I am that she spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on dr appointments and fertility treatments for years and years because she was sure that there was a little one missing in the family. I’m grateful that she endured all of that heartache from infertility and pushed onward, and that she suffered 9 months of horrible morning sickness to bring me into this world. I love her patience, love and prayers offered on my behalf. She was willing to be home with all of us kids to ensure that we were raised to be wonderful, contributing citizens, and most importantly that we would be kind, charitable, and loving. She made sure that we had a foundation of strength, faith, and devotion. She is my hero in every way. I hope to teach, love and protect my children in a way that I can hold them close to me and influence them for good just as she did.

I adore my mother for always being there. I love her for her sacrifices and that whether they have a lot or nothing at all she is always giving, no matter the sacrifice it is for her to go without. I love how she prays for, loves and watches after more people than they will ever realize. She is quick to observe and diligent in her service. You will never be able to pull a complaint out of my mother. Because of this many don’t even realize when she is suffering because she listens to everything and only encourages and uplifts.

Thank you, Mom. Thank you for humbling yourself so much that you in fact forgot yourself and served your family, friends, and anyone you came in contact with. I adore these two primary songs from the church we belong to. I’ve been listening to the kids practice them each week in Primary, and they make me cry each time because I remember being little and singing these in church on Mother’s day.

They are for you this Mother’s day.

“I often go walking in meadows of clover,
And I gather armfuls of blossoms of blue.
I gather the blossoms the whole meadow over,
Dear Mother, all flowers remind me of you.

Oh Mother, I give you my love with each flower
To give forth sweet fragrance a whole lifetime through
For if I love blossoms and meadows and walking,
I learn how to love them, dear Mother, from you.”

“. Mother*, I love you; mother, I do.
Father in Heaven has sent me to you.
When I am near you, I love to hear you
Singing so softly that you love me too.
2. Mother, I love you; mother, I do.
I want to help you because I love you.
I want to mind you; I want to find you
Happy and smiling because I love you.
Mother, I love you; I love you, I do.”

Such cute songs, and my favorite video to all you mothers out there.
