Turkey Lettuce Wraps

I love these turkey lettuce wraps!  Years ago I was living in Chicago and we all went out to PF Changs for dinner. Everyone was ordering the lettuce wraps and I was like, “meat in lettuce… yeah sounds really great.” Wait, it was awesome!!!!!!!! I was totally thinking it would be lame, but it was delicious.

This recipe comes from my neighbor, Krysta. They are so flavorful and moist. I love sauce so they are right up my alley. I did adjust the brown sugar a bit because it was a little too sweet and I felt guilty adding a whole cup, and I did leave out the celery since we didn’t have any. These lettuce wraps are quick and easy. The cool lettuce around all of that saucy meat is perfect for summer.

What Lettuce Makes the Best Lettuce Wraps?

Iceberg, Boston, green leaf and butter lettuce seems to be the most used, the favorites being iceberg and butter.

Romaine can be used also, but it is harder to wrap with.

Is Turkey Good For You?

Turkey can be a part of a healthy eating plan, especially since it is a good source of protein.

Turkey is high in zinc, B vitamins, phosphorus, tryptophan, selenium and protein.

Can A Person Be Allergic to Almonds?

Almonds do contain allergens.

If you are allergic to other nuts, you may have an allergic reaction to almonds also.
