This Biscoff Banana Bread recipe has become our hands down favorite new way to make banana bread. The flavor from the Biscoff is subtle and so good!

It’s one of those hidden flavors that you know there’s something that makes the bread more tender, moist, and delicious, but you can’t quite put your finger on what it is. It also seems to make the bread extra moist which I love.

I think that Biscoff is kinda the new Nutella. Now hear me out, nothing can replace Nutella for a little chocolatey goodness, but remember when everyone first started to discover Nutella? It was pure craziness! It was the “new thing” of spreads. In fact, it was the new Peanut Butter, if you will. Biscoff is kinda like that. It’s Biscoff cookies, so who wouldn’t want to spread that all over everything. In Utah I find it at Macey’s. Love Macey’s. Of course they would carry it.

The Biscoff truly does add a little something to this bread. I made it three times to test everything out, and all of our friends LOVED the bread. I’d say that’s a pretty good response. Everyone needs a yummy go-to recipe for banana bread and I hope this will become yours. If all else fails and you cannot find the Biscoff, just skip it, but I promise it’s truly better with.

Biscoff Banana Bread Recipe
Description
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 Cup Flour
- 3/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 1/4 Teaspoon Cream of Tartar
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/3 Cup Shortening
- 1/3 Cup Biscoff Spread
- 2/3 Cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Cup Mashed Bananas, about 2 med-large bananas (make sure they are freckled so they are ripe enough)
- 1 Cup Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Cream together the shortening, biscoff, eggs and sugar in the bowl of a standing mixer.
- Sift together the dry ingredients and add alternately with the mashed bananas to the creamed mixture.
- Add 1 cup chocolate chips (or as many as you like).
- Grease a bread pan and fill with bread mixture.
- Bake for 1 hour. I tent mine with foil the last ten minutes.

Thanks for replying. I have one last question. I have 2 loaf pans. A 8.5×4.5×2.5in and a 9.25×5.25×2.75in. Which pan should I use? I don’t want to waste any batter nor do I want it to spill out. Please answer as soon as possible. I plan to make this tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for your time….

I got so excited, oh my gosh! I wonder if this will also work on a different kind of bread since I’m not exactly a big fan of banana bread, but I’m flexible. Anything for Biscoff. I will go ahead and try this out first this weekend. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Lisa,
In testing we found that the butter flavor wasn’t that noticeable but the dryness was. Oil or shortening gave us a more moist bread that held up over time while butter was a drier bread that was very dry by just day two compared to shortening. If there was more of a flavor difference we would have risked butter.

So we can use oil instead of shortening? And I’m going to use cookie butter Trader Joe’s instead of biscoff spread and think it should be fine?

Yes, we’ve had readers use coconut oil instead of the shortening. Yes, the cookie butter from Trader Joe’s should work great!

Hi Lois, if it wasn’t baked through that would happen. Is it possible it wasn’t centered for even baking or that your oven didn’t stay a constant temperature?

I made this last night because I had some bananas that were reaching the end of their life and all the rest of the ingredients on hand, and what isn’t made better by a little cookie butter? I doubled the recipe so I got 2 loaves and I used coconut oil in place of the shortening. It was amazing! The house smelled soooo good and I love the taste and texture of the final bread. I’m going to make these in mini loaf pans and give as Christmas gifts, it was that good!

LOL… Lucky you. You found it 8 yrs before I did. Had I not seen a YouTube cupcake recipe using Biscoff I would have never looked for it. If you love Biscoff you have to try the cupcakes. Go to Crumbs and Dollies on YouTube and search for the recipe. She has 2. One where you use ABC the other is SMBC. I always make SMBC because the other is just too sweet for me. Hope you give it a try. You’ll thank me later, 😉
