This Creamy Marionberry syrup is sure to delight every mother on Mother’s Day or any other day. You can use blackberries too!
I am an ambassador for the Utah Dairy Council and this post is sponsored.
I’d rather have breakfast, lunch, and dinner cooked for me and a clean house than some expensive gift, A. because I’m cheap and B. because it means total relaxation for me. It doesn’t hurt the the Mr is totally awesome in the kitchen as well. He always pulls through for any special occasion. These Sour Cream Pancakes are soft, luscious and totally not my recipe, but they are our favorite. So, I decided to make a syrup equally as delicious. Creamy Marionberry Syrup gives a shout out to our favorite Northwest berry that we grew up
This year, as you may have noticed, we teamed up with the Utah Dairy Council to incorporate more dairy into our recipes and while most of our recipes have been a little more on the healthy side like Avocado Egg Salad, Skinny Turkey Taco Salad, and Cream of Tomato Soup we decided to show that adding a little extra calcium, Vitamin D etc into your diet is actually quite easy. So, you may not normally think about dairy in a syrup recipe, but trust me, it makes it so creamy and delicious.
So, not only are you giving Mom something scrumptious for breakfast, but you care so much about her that you’re taking care of her bones too. (Calories don’t count on holidays in case you forgot)
And don’t worry, if you need a good pancake recipe you can always make our favorite from Ina Garten, Sour Cream Pancakes. Trust me, they are incredible.
Is Marionberry the Same as Boysenberry?
A marionberry is different than a boysenberry.
A marionberry is derived from crossing two types of blackberries.
Boysenberry is a hybrid berry created from crossing blackberry, red raspberry, and loganberry.
Marionberries are elongated and glossy.
Boysenberries are fatter with bigger drupelets (each seed plus flesh).

Where do you find frozen marionberries if you’re not in the PNW?
Hi Alesia! That is a great a question and it can be impossible to find them sometimes. I’ve had the best luck at specialty food stores like Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. If you can’t find them, the best substitutes are blackberries, blueberries or raspberries.
I picked a TON of blackberries the other day. And these are so sweet and yummy. I want to make your creamy syrup recipe. My husband HATES (can’t make those capital enough) the seeds in the blackberries. When you use blackberries in this recipe, at what stage do you strain out the seeds?
Just after cooking everything down I’d strain out the seeds. 🙂
Looks too delicious.I wish i could taste this but i am going to try this to cook.
It’s usually an easy small loan for a short term that’s used as
an unexpected emergency loan from the borrower until
their next paycheck my website for instance, they may decide to decrease their normal price getting car
financing.
Don’t think I’ve ever noticed Marionberries around these parts, but I’ll definitely be on the lookout for them now!
