it seems too simple but oh my goodness it was good! Steak and Brussel Sprouts ohsweetbasil.com low carb, gluten free, grain free

I’ve never really gotten into the whole Walking Dead thing but because everyone has been talking so much about it I couldn’t help but ask you all what you think… so make this 15 minute steak and brussel sprouts recipe and let’s chat about dead bodies that walk around and get you. Gosh, see how weird it is!

We tried one episode, just to see what all the fuss was about. I don’t think I even made it to the end. There is literally a half body all nasty like crawling across the park at one point. A half body!! Maybe I missed it, but I just can’t see what is so fantastic about that? I will say that they did do a good job with graphics and such, but for me it’s too good of a job. It’s seriously so gross.

And yet, even as I type this my cute friend is texting me that her and her husband LOVE the show. Am I really that lame that I can’t figure out what is so great about diseased bodies walking around trying to get you? AND! Gosh, how could I have forgotten everyone that is talking about how it’s so likely to happen. What?! You guys, someone clue us in. Is it really that good of a show and please tell me I’m not the only one that does not believe in zombies (but I still love all of you zombie lovers and believers)?

Brussels sprouts, are fine to eat raw for most people.

Some people, however, experience gas and bloating from difficult-to-digest sugars found in raw brussel sprouts.

These sugars become easier to digest once cooked.

Can Steak Be Fried?

When preparing steak inside, they can be fried.

A heavy-duty, thick-based frying pan will achieve the best results, as will a heavy griddle pan or skillet.

What a wonderful recipe! I love all the crucifers, but Brussels sprouts are my favourite. Regarding zombies and all of their ilk… I am with you and find the entire genre disgusting and confuse. And I agree with you when you say, “If I don’t feel good and uplifted from it I don’t want it.” This is my philosophy as well, whether it’s books, TV or movies. I was a passionate TV watcher as a girl and now I mostly turn it on to watch “America’s Test Kitchen” or a tried and true DVD. ^_^

    1. Sweet Basil says:

Oh I love the America’s Test Kitchen Episodes!!!

  2. Lauren says:

This looks SO delicious, and ready in 15? I’ll take that thanks! And I gotta say, I’m with you on the zombie issue! A little too gruesome for me!

    1. Sweet Basil says:

Hooray! So glad I’m not alone!

  3. Courtney @ Neighborfood says:

Don’t worry. You’re not along. My hubby loves the show but it’s way too bloody for me. I’ll stick to steak and brussels and Downton Abbey please.

    1. Sweet Basil says:

exactly! Something a little less blood and guts!

  4. Melanie @ Carmel Moments says:

If there’s a way to enjoy brussel sprouts then I want to know about it. This looks so tasty! Maybe I could even get my kids to finally enjoy them. 🙂

    1. Sweet Basil says:

This is seriously what sold our family. Butter and well seasoned is the key but now we can just do olive oil

  5. cheri says:

Oh yum, were talking about some great flavor here.

  6. Rocky Mountain Woman says:

    lovely recipe!

I don’t get the zombie thing either. Actually, I don’t watch anything anymore that doesn’t add to my sense of well-being. I’m turning into a wuss in my old age…

    1. Sweet Basil says:

We are literally the same. If I don’t feel good and uplifted from it I don’t want it

  7. Claire Gallam says:

This is my dream dish. I love brussel sprouts!

  8. Gaby says:

Love the craisins! This sounds so wonderful!

  9. Kelli @ The Corner Kitchen says:

I’ve never seen walking dead, and have to admit that I don’t really know what it’s about. I assume zombies. One thing I am super into…this salad! This would be perfect for a light-ish dinner!

    1. Sweet Basil says:

Apparently there was a zombie movie as well. Clearly I just don’t care, haha

  10. Taylor @ Food Faith Fitness says:

My husband is weirdly obsessed with that show. Like you, It’s not my thang?
How-ev-er…this easy meal is definitely my thang! I need to find these pomegranate craisins! Pinned

    1. Sweet Basil says:

That half body in the first episode seriously was awful. I knew I’d never care for it.
