We’ve heard you loud and clear, you want a yummy treat or snack that isn’t pumpkin. This easy apple pie popcorn is exactly what you’re looking for.
Is Popcorn Good for You When Dieting?
Served without salt or butter, a cup of fluffy popcorn is both filling and high in fiber content but has only about 30 calories.
We’re so excited to announce our partnership with Orville Redenbacher’s, but first I’m going to say something that will probably make you all think we are the most lame people ever; Cade and I didn’t like popcorn at all until a few years ago. It’s out there. I’ve admitted it. And then a friend changed our lives.
When I was younger I had the worst teeth and when the time finally came for me to get braces my orthodontist told me to ditch the popcorn, pop, and anything hard or sticky. I so badly wanted straight teeth that I was beyond obedient. With time I didn’t even care for those things anymore.
Is Popcorn Gluten Free?
Popcorn Is Gut-Friendly.
Corn is a whole-grain food, and all types of corn are gluten-free.
Years later we were at our friends’ home and Stephanie made us Marshmallow popcorn. I sat in the kitchen as she pulled out a bag of Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn, dumped all of those fluffy, white pieces of heaven into a bowl and poured a brown sugar marshmallow sauce over everything (the recipe is in that link above or at the bottom of the page). We became sold forever.
This easy apple pie popcorn is addicting. Good heavens. If you only knew how long I just hid in our pantry shoveling it into my mouth. We discovered the secret to making it so addicting and, you guys, it is going to make you want to experiment like crazy.
Ok! Take your Butter Popcorn and pop up the goodness. Then, and this is important, pop a bag of the “>Smart Pop Kettle Corn. Oh my goodness. It’s buttery, sweet, crunchy, and perfect in every way. Just like a pie crust. That’s right, pie. Throw in some chopped up, freeze dried, (but not so dried like those that are too crunchy), apples, and then melt a little more butter.
Add in cinnamon, nutmeg, a little brown sugar and white sugar and drizzle that sweet stuff all over the popcorn and apples. Stir to combine, allowing everything to get coated and the apples to start sticking to the popcorn. Now just sit back, dig in to your easy apple pie popcorn and hope the kids don’t eat too much so you can have it again later. 😉
Really, it’s all about the two popcorns together. That Buttered Popcorn is awesome! Actually, Orville Redenbacher’s is the only leading brand that uses real butter. I have to admit that fact totally made me go buy a bag for myself along with a few others- it really does taste fresh better! We were thrilled to partner up because if we are going to stand by a brand, we want it to be one we believe and trust. Orville Redenbacher dedicated his life to growing the perfect popcorn. They use third generation family farmers who were hand-selected by Orville himself, and grow only the highest quality, non-GMO, 100% whole grain kernels that pop up lighter and fluffier than ordinary popcorn. Their whole message is literally our message; food brings people together. Yes, yes it does and we love that.
Sold. For. Life.
Why Does Popcorn Pop?
Inside each kernel of popcorn is a tiny droplet of water surrounded by a hard shell called a hull.
As the popcorn is heated, the water turns into steam, which builds pressure inside the kernel.
When the hull can no longer contain the pressure —POP! — the kernel explodes, and a fluffy new piece of popcorn is born.

This sounds tasty, but what happens to the healthy benefits of eating popcorn when you add all that “bad” stuff? Oh, why can’t we all be perfectly healthy so we can eat this every day??

This popcorn looks delicious. You might want to correct your ingredient list. 1 1/2 cups freeze dried – what? I’m assuming it’s apples.
